On our last day we went to Seaport Village, did a little window shopping, and then went on Seal Tour.
Adam in front of the the Harbor
Mama’s Boy
The look on his face sums it up. He wasn’t a fan of the bird on his shoulder.
Our Seal Tour was on an amphibious vehicle that starts off on land, then goes into the water. I thought Adam would love this and he did!
It took about 15 minutes to drive from Seaport Village to the marina and the boat/car was doing about 50 mph and it was windy and freezing! But once we got into the water and cruised at about 5 mph, it was really nice.
They took us out to a popular seal hangout. Abby kept pointing and yelling, “dog, dog!”.
We also went past the Navy dolphin training facility and from a distance, could see dolphins as they jumped out of the water in their holding pens.
A real treat was that we saw 2 or 3 wild dolphins! Our guide said he hadn’t seen wild dolphins in 3 months. I don’t have any pictures because I was trying to film and still see them live. It was cool knowing they were wild animals and not the show animals we’d seen at SeaWorld or trained dolphins for the Navy. (Interesting tidbit about the Navy dolphins….they train them to go out ahead of ships and scout out any unfamiliar objects in the water and then come back and report to the officers. Somehow they can push certain buttons with their noses to answer questions about what they find. It’s crazy how smart they are!)
After our Seal Tour we went to the beach….stay tuned!
