Unfortunately, we only went to the beach once. And only for an hour and a half. I knew May in San Diego wasn’t prime beach weather. And I was right. We waited until the last day to go because it was the warmest day with highs in the low 70’s. That did not stop Abby from LOVING the water!
We couldn’t keep her away! She ran towards the water like a crazy woman.
Adam, however, was deathly afraid of the water. Sigh. I don’t quite know what to do with this scared little boy.
He loved digging in the sand though!
He found a friend to play with.
When we could keep her away from the water, Abby had fun digging too.
What trip to the beach would be complete without some Seagull chasing?
And then it was over. Our first real family vacation was a success! Adam is still talking about Shamu and dolphins and LEGOLAND. I’m grateful that I had a few people talk me into taking this trip. They were right! Even though the kids are small and won’t remember this in a few years, I will. And they will look back at these pictures and know that we made it a priority to spend time with them having FUN together! I wonder what we’ll do next year? :)

I'm glad you decided to go! I may not remember all of our family vacations from when I was a child but like you said, I do have pictures and I do remember that we went somewhere every year and had fun as a family. Totally worth it! (Even if I am COMPLETELY Disneyland exhausted as I write this. :))
