Abby did this Shape Matching file folder game
She knows the names of every shape, only needing a reminder on rectangle. Her pronunciation, however, needs some work. As do her colors…. :)
Melissa and Doug Cutting Food set.
Abby got this for Christmas and she loves it! The only problem is that she can’t really put the food back together so she cuts it all up, and then leaves the pieces laying around everywhere for me to reassemble and put away. And then she finds it again…
Adam and I played a game of memory.
And then Abby had fun trying to find matches. When she’d find one she’d yell out, “Matches!”
Adam then lead us in one of his tumbling warm-ups.
He has a tumbling class once a week and this is one of his favorite parts. As the kids stretch, they make pizzas by grabbing ingredients from alternating legs, then sprinkle them all around the “pizza” in the middle as they reach to the ground.
Play-doh!
I don’t know why, but Adam has decided that he doesn’t like me trying to teach him things. I finally managed to get him to hold the scissors correctly and, voila! They worked and he snipped a snake of play-doh into pieces. He would only do one, but I have plans to make encourage him to work on this in the future. I just wasn’t in the teaching mood that day so it was just free play.
Abby put balls in and out of the cup.
Water Transfer Using a Sponge
The kids LOVED this! They played in the water for a good 30 minutes until their fingers were wrinkly and freezing!
Abby also had fun pouring the water back and forth
Adam very carefully transferred all the water from one bowl to the other using just the sponge.
“Raisin Fingers!”
I had more planned, but alas, pregnant Mommy isn’t very good at follow-through these days. And I’m ok with that.

They are too sweet with their "raisin fingers"! I think I will try that water transfer with a sponge this week...
Big brothers are supposed to be bossy! Or at least that's what my oldest son thinks, LOL! You've got a great range of activities...I love that everything is play-based! I might try the sponge activity too!
Fantastic that she's doing so well with shapes and colors! That file folder game looks like fun!
Love the raisin fingers! We will have to try the sponge activity soon!
Raisin fingers are a sure sign of a good time. Fun week!
Popping in from Tot School.
Looks like a great learning week! We LOVE playdough and already had our box out this morning. My son was hiding buttons in it! I should have him do more playdough cutting, he would love that.
