Abby’s Big Girl Hair

I attempted pig tails today.  It took FOREVER but when they were finally done, I was pretty impressed!  She looks so grown up!DSCF6843

She has a very prominent natural part and her hair just doesn’t want to go the other way….hence the wacky part line.DSCF6834DSCF6838

Trying to get a picture of her is almost impossible.  I thought this one was funny.  She’s so serious.DSCF6837

Of course it lasted all of an hour before she threw a fit on the floor and messed it up.  Oh well.  I have some other ideas but they require precise parting and placement and she just won’t sit still! :)DSCF6848

Any suggestions of styles or tricks my fellow mom’s of little girls?

I always do Karlee's hair when she's strapped into her booster seat eating breakfast. She's learned that if she tries moving her head while I'm trying to put an elastic in, I yank and it doesn't feel too good so after a few times she's stopped trying to move her head.

Lexie has always done the best while sitting in front of the TV. I like the little section(s) of hair flipped through itself and then pulled tight....stays really well, even sometimes for more than one day at a time, but it cute and keeps the little hair sections laying down instead of sticking up when their hair is short still. I know, most of this probably makes no sense. I am so tired right now and I can't think straight. I know you've seen then on Lexie before though...if you need more explanation I can show you next time I see you.

I'm just jealous that she has enough hair to do pigtails. Sarah is quite a ways behind her!

I always get their hair wet with a spray bottle, helps with parts and control. I give Kinley her toothbrush while I do her hair and that keeps her still, but speed is your friend! I love to do a pony on the top and split it and then pull through itself. this is a great way to keep her hair out of her face and then I do piggy's. Does that make sense at all?. Also a zig zag part would be cute and might work with her funky part. Girls are so fun. I love to get creative!

Ha! I've got nothing to contribute...Susie just got her very first wispy Pebbles pigtail sticking straight up from the top of her head yesterday. We are MONTHS away from pigtails....why did my SON get all the hair?!
