Daily Life with Adam and Mommy

Here are a few pictures and videos of random things that go on all day around here!

Teeth and a cute grin

This was a particularly messy dinner. You wouldn't think "Beef with Macaroni" would be so orange! Come to find out the first ingredient is carrots!
Swimming at Grandma's

We've gone through toes, ears, hair, pee-pee, and now this......
he LOVES to stick his finger up his nose!!

Intently watching a Baby Einstein DVD.
It keeps his attention for about 5 minutes which allows me enough time to hurry and do the dishes before he crawls over and wants to "help" me.
He pulls himself onto anything and everything and can even walk the length of the couch and move from the couch to the coffee table or from us to the couch, etc. Now if only he would learn how to sit back down after standing....that would make naptime and bedtime a whole lot easier on me!

Adam loves banging on his bongo drums (and everything else). This video shows just how hard he hits!

I was getting ready to feed him one day and decided to make a monkey noise and he cracked up! It was so hilarious. Poor kid doesn't know I do a terrible monkey impression! :)

CWAG in Seattle

Every year, my Dad attends a Conference of Western Attorneys General meeting which is hosted by a different state each year. The families of the AG's get to go and have fun while the AG's and staff are in boring meetings all day. This is the first year Nat and I have gone and it was in Seattle, WA (previous years included Alaska and Hawaii....Seattle isn't quite as thrilling, but we had a good time).
The Space Needle
Pike Place Market
The famous fish stall.
Unfortunately nobody was buying fish so we didn't get to see them throw the fish from behind the counter. There were tons of flower stalls. If I lived in Seattle I would definitely buy fresh flowers all the time from this market.
Views of the Seattle skyline from a cruise ship we took out to Blake Island for dinner one night.
Hazy view of Mt. Rainier from the boat. Seattle was smoggy while we were there due to some wild fires burning in eastern Washington so you can barely see the mountain in this photo.
We toured the Museum of Flight museum. Here is Adam and Nat sitting in a fighter jet. This was the actual Air Force One that was used during the Kennedy era. I was hoping it was the one that Johnson took the oath of office on after Kennedy's assassination because that would've been cool, but this plane was retired about a year before that. It is apparently a fraction of the size of the planes they now use for Air Force One.

Swimming at a water park.
Adam especially loved the wave pool. I want to take him to a real beach now!

My Mom and I gawked over these gorgeous Hydrangeas. I wish they would grow this big here in Utah!

CWAG always puts us up at really nice hotels. This is what we found when we arrived. I had requested a crib but didn't expect all of this! It was lovely!

Breaking News!!

Adam's 2 bottom teeth have finally arrived! I swear he has been teething for 3 months straight. Last week #1 poked through, followed by #2 a few days later! I put my finger in his mouth probably 15 times a day because I love feeling them! They are sharp little buggers too! :)

Other news.....Adam is pulling himself up to kneeling and sometimes standing. And if I stand him up, he'll stand for quite a while. He's also getting lightening fast at scooting around too. He's so fun to watch and Nat and I are so entertained by him all the time!

Learning to Scoot

Adam has started getting up on his knees and rocking and also scooting/army-crawling across the floor! It's so fun to tease him with a toy and watch him struggle to get to it! I guess it's time to start looking for gates and baby-proofing the house. Yikes. My life will never be the same!

Happy 4th of July!

To celebrate the 4th we went over to my Grandparents' for dinner and fireworks. It was kind of a blustery day but we had fun talking and hanging out with my extended family.

Adam and his second cousins Michael and Becca

Playing with Grandpa Great

This is a video of Adam enjoying the fireworks. I thought for sure he'd be afraid of the noise but he loved it!

This is a video of another firework and an unexpected gust of wind that knocked the firework over which blew sparks onto all of us. It was quite thrilling!!

YELLOWSTONE

Last week we went to Yellowstone for a family vacation with some of my extended family. It was a blast and Adam was adored by all and was a real trooper! Sorry there are so many pictures....it was hard enough to pick just these to share!
Old Faithful
Adam loved hiking around with Daddy in his backback. And also chewing on the edge!
Cool dude with his shades and hat

Eating huckleberry ice cream. Yummy!!

A smelly, bubbling mud pot

Adam's 6 Month Pictures

We got Adam's 6 month pictures taken a few days ago. Unfortunately, I thought I had planned the perfect time of day when he would be awake and happy but he woke up late and therefore threw all his naps off and wasn't all that happy. Oh well!

In looking at these pictures, I now realize that this child looks nothing like me!

Swimming Lessons!

I took Adam to swimming lessons and my Mom came up to take pictures for me of our last class. Unfortunately, after 8 days of lessons, Adam wasn't as excited to be back in the pool again. The first week he splashed and laughed the entire time and then I think he got a little tired of it. Oh well! We had fun!

High School Tag

Heather thanks for the tag!
1. Did you date someone from your school? Much to my chagrin....no!!!

2. What kind of car did you drive? Let's see....a 1989 Honda Accord which I totalled (hey...it was pooring rain like crazy that day and the stupid girl in front of me slammed on her brakes without warning!), 1987 Chevy Beretta, aka "The Tank" (it died), and finally a 1996 Nissan Sentra which I got my senior year....a much more respectable car!

3. It's Friday night...where are you? With friends

4. Were you a party animal? Yeah right.
5. Were you considered a flirt? Hmmm....I tried anyway.

6. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir? Yay for Chamber Choir my junior year and Madrigals and A Capella my senior year!! Best thing about high school were the friends I had in choir! (and Heather of course!)

8. Were you on any varsity teams? No way.

9. Did you get suspended/expelled? I was a goody-goody who hung out with members of the Seminary Council!

10. Can you sing the fight song? Most of it I think.

11. Who were your favorite teachers? Number one for sure....Mr. Waldron, my choir director. That man is awesome! I wasn't too much into the actual academics of school, so I barely remember any of my teacher's names. Although I did love Brother Butler as my seminary teacher. By the way.....Really? Brother Call Heather? Don't you remember passing notes the entire class because he was BORING???

12. Where did you sit during lunch? The area of the cafeteria varied, but always with my friends and almost always in the cafeteria. (stole answer from Heather)

13.What was your school's full name? Jordan High School.

14. School mascot? BEETDIGGERS!!!!

15. Did you go to Homecoming and who with? I wasn't old enough my sophmore year, and I didn't start making my good friends until well into my junior year, so I didn't get asked :( and my senior year I went with Gavin Swenson! So cute and nice! :)

16. If you could go back and do it again, would you? No way!! If you take away all the boy drama, I'd love to go back to choir though!

17.What do you remember most about graduation? Singing in our Madrigal choir and at the end of the song, Mr. Waldron signed and mouthed "I love you". Sniff sniff! Oh and then there was the rockin' party hosted by yours truly! Crazy things happened that night! :)

18. Where did you go senior skip day? No skipping here!

19. Were you in any clubs? Just choir and I don't know if that counts.

20. Have you gained some weight since then? Um yeah! And to think I thought I was fat in high school!

21. Who was your prom date? I really don't want to admit this but....junior year" Tim _____ what's his last name? He's gay.....I think. And senior year....did I go? I can't remember! Oh, I think I was deathly ill with Mono during Prom.

22. Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion? Don't know. I'm not so sure I want to see certain people....ahem....David Wright! I was a stupid, silly, immature girl back then and don't really know if I want to relive it!

I tag everyone! It's fun to hear about other people's high school experiences!

Snuggling with Daddy

This boy sure does love his Daddy.

And I just saw this picture and it breaks my heart to see how fast he's growing! :(
